TfL Licensing & Regulatory Compliance
London Airport Transfers Ltd holds a Private Hire Operator Licence issued by Transport for London (TfL) — the regulatory authority for all private hire vehicles operating in London. This licence is not a formality. It requires ongoing compliance with TfL standards, and is renewed annually through a formal review process.
Every chauffeur working with us holds an individual PCO (Public Carriage Office) driver licence, also issued by TfL. This means both the company and each driver are independently licensed and regularly assessed by the regulator — not just at the point of joining, but on an ongoing basis.
For passengers — particularly corporate clients — this dual licensing structure provides a clear guarantee: every journey with us is covered by a TfL-regulated operator using TfL-licensed drivers.

Chauffeur Selection & Vetting
We are selective about who represents London Airport Transfers Ltd. Every chauffeur is required to hold a current PCO driver licence and to have passed an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check — the highest level of criminal record check available in the UK, covering not only convictions but also information held by police that has not resulted in a prosecution.
Beyond the mandatory checks, we look for chauffeurs with solid experience navigating London — including airport procedures, terminal layouts, and the traffic patterns that determine whether a client arrives on time or not. Personal manner matters equally. Our clients expect a driver who is professional, discreet, and easy to travel with.
Annual DBS renewals are a requirement for all drivers working with us, in line with TfL regulations.

Fleet & Vehicle Standards
Our fleet consists exclusively of Mercedes-Benz vehicles: the S-Class, E-Class, and V-Class. Each model is chosen for a specific type of journey — whether that is a solo executive transfer, a group airport pick-up, or a full-day hire requiring space and comfort for several passengers over several hours.

Luggage capacity for each vehicle is published on our website. If you are travelling with more than the standard allowance, let us know at the time of booking — we will allocate the right vehicle from the outset.

Service Reliability
We monitor flight arrivals in real time and adjust pick-up times accordingly at no extra charge. Our chauffeurs meet arriving passengers inside the terminal with a name board, assist with luggage, and allow time for the practical realities of landing — immigration, baggage, and the walk to the exit.
Bookings are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We cover all major London airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, London City, Biggin Hill, and Farnborough. For outbound transfers, we advise on departure times and factor in current road conditions for the planned pick-up time.
If something goes wrong — a vehicle issue, a change in circumstances — we contact the client directly and find a solution. This is not a system that handles exceptions automatically; there is a person responsible for every booking.
