The British monarch returned to the horse race after the pandemic forced her to skip last year’s event.<\/h1>\n

Queen Elizabeth is back at the races! After missing last year’s race due to a pandemic, the British monarch returned to her beloved Royal Ascot horse race. Given her lifelong love of horses, Ascot is considered to be the Queen’s favorite event of the year. The royals appeared in force, despite the fact that this year’s event is a little different, with attendees being masked and having to take a COVID test.
\nThe Queen did not attend the opening day of Ascot this year, since she had an in-person meeting with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. She did, however, show up on the last day of the event to watch the races.<\/p>\n

Queen Elizabeth, who has been sponsor of Royal Ascot since her accession to the queen in 1952, has a special connection to the week. With her horse, Estimate, the Queen became the first ruling monarch to win the Royal Ascot Gold Cup in 2013.
\nAs Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, told ITV\u2019s Racing presenter, “I think this is passion in life, and she loves it and you can tell how much she loves it. She can tell you every horse she\u2019s bred and owned, from the very beginning, she doesn\u2019t forget anything.”<\/p>\n
