Buckingham Palace introduces its own sloe gin made with Eastern European berries.<\/h1>\n

Sloe gin is a quintessentially British liqueur made traditionally from berries selected from the numerous blackthorn shrubs found in the country’s hedgerows. Buckingham Palacenhas confirmed that in order to make its own sloe gin, it was forced to import the berries from Eastern Europe because the UK’s fruits were not up to standard.
\nA spokeswoman said: \u201cWe are using whole berries, rather than from concentrate, meaning they need to be of the best quality.\u201d She said that they would do better in a colder climate. <\/p>\n

\nA 50cl bottle of the gin, which is infused with ingredients from Buckingham Palace’s kitchen, costs \u00a330. The RCT’s new offering, which costs \u00a330 for a 50cl bottle, comes after the success of its own London dry gin, which sold out within eight hours of going online last summer.
\nThe charity, which looks after the Queen’s art collection and official residences, will be aiming to make substantial sales gains as it struggles to make ends meet after the pandemic decimated its tourism revenue. In 2020-21, it is forecast to lose more than \u00a360 million, possibly requiring a \u00a322 million loan from Coutts.<\/p>\n

In addition, Queen Elizabeth has launched her own beer, which is made from plants grown on her Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England.
