Loganair will fly connecting London Heathrow Airport and London City Airport to the Isle of Man
Loganair, the UK’s largest regional airline, announced this month that it will commence flights from the Isle of Man to both London City and London Heathrow airports, marking a huge step forward for the Isle of Man’s post-pandemic air link.
New services from the Isle of Man to London City will commence on April 19, with a daily trip (except Saturdays) before extending to two flights each weekday on Tuesday, May 3. Beginning that day, the morning and evening flight schedules will be changed to include a day-return trip in each direction, as well as a flight in each direction on Sunday evenings.
Offerings between both the Isle of Man and London Heathrow ( LM0675 , LM0676 ) will begin on Tuesday, May 3, with a wide range of destinations designed to provide uses predictive with Loganair’s major partner airlines, including British Airways, to a wide range of international destinations, including key points in Europe, North America, and South Africa.
Loganair’s pilots, cabin crew, and engineers will fly the new flights from the Isle of Man. In addition to servicing current Loganair services to Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, and Edinburgh, the airline now employs over 30 workers at Ronaldsway.
More pilots and cabin crew from the Isle of Man have joined Loganair this week, many of whom were formerly employed by Flybe and Stobart Air before to the demise of both airlines, to begin training on the 72-seat ATR72-600 aircraft used by Loganair on its IOM flights. These are the most ecologically friendly regional aircraft, combining best-in-class fuel burn and carbon emissions performance with high levels of on-board comfort for customers.
Loganair CEO Jonathan Hinkles praised the new statement, adding, “We’re really thrilled that the Isle of Man’s airline is resuming island-based service to London – servicing not one, but two vital airports. Our carefully timed flights to London City will provide great connectivity to the heart of London for both leisure and business travelers, while our London Heathrow services will support that access to London with the most extensive network of onward connecting flights with our air carriers to over 100 destinations around the world.”
“Today’s news also provides the Isle of Man with additional stable, dependable aviation jobs.” We’re looking forward to welcoming new Loganair IOM team members this week, and we’ll keep investing in training, career development, and apprenticeships.”
