Hyatt has opened the first central London hotel under its Hyatt Place brand
Hyatt Place London City East is housed within a redeveloped 1980s office on Whitechapel Road, just over half a mile walk from Liverpool Street rail and Underground station.
Features include 280 rooms with “separate spaces to sleep, work and play”, some of which have private terraces, as well as Pocketsquare Skyline Bar and Terrace with views of London, Zoom restaurant, and The Market “serving freshly prepared meals anytime, day or night”.
There are also two event spaces for up to 20 guests, a fitness centre, and free wifi throughout. The hotel joins the existing Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport and Hyatt Place West London as the third property under the brand in the London area.
The group also has two other hotels under development in the UK capital, the Park Hyatt London River Thames in London’s Nine Elms area on the south bank of the River Thames, and the Hyatt Regency London Olympia attached to the redeveloped Olympia London exhibition centre site on Hammersmith Road.
Commenting on the opening Michael Mason-Shaw, general manager Hyatt Place London City East, said: “With its central location and stylish design incorporating local art links, we’re confident the Hyatt Place concept will prove as popular with those enjoying a short break in the capital as it will with anyone traveling on business. Above all, we look forward to introducing more people to the casual yet practical atmosphere associated with the Hyatt Place brand.”
