The most expensive city destinations to stay in Europe
According to a latest survey by Cheaprooms.co.uk, Zurich has been the most costly hotel location in Europe. Visitors should expect to pay an average of £113 per night for the cheapest available double room.
The study examined the cost of staying in 40 European cities in September 2021, when hotel prices in the city are most likely to be at their highest. Only hotels with at least three stars in a central location were evaluated.
Hamburg was ranked as the second most expensive European city in the study, with an average accommodation rate of £95. Travelers visiting Milan may anticipate high prices as well, with an average hotel fee of £92.
The hotel prices in London are 20% less expensive than in 2019, with an average night charge of £77. Other hotspots in the UK and Ireland have seen their prices drop as well. Both Edinburgh and Dublin currently have rates that are 40% less expensive than in September 2019.
Istanbul emerged as Europe’s cheapest location to visit, with average hotel costs of £15 per night. Birmingham is also one of the most affordable cities, with an average night cost of £37. The list below shows 40 European city destinations. The prices shown are the average price for the lowest available double room at each destination from 1 to September 30, 2021.
