Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Returns to London
A festive soda truck, decorated with garlands of light bulbs and a “living” portrait of Santa Claus, came to the streets of the British capital every winter to enhance the New Year’s mood. The only exception was last December, 2020. The Time Out London journalist has decoded the cryptic messages left by Coca-Cola on social networks, and is confident that the truck will return as soon as possible. This conclusion was prompted by the phrase of the brand ’s manager “There is not long to wait, we need to donate the last reindeer” under the question of the Twitter user about when the triumphal entry of the truck will take place again. The exact places of his visit and dates are still a secret.
In past years, the famous lemonade was sold from the truck, distributed free of charge, and also accepted containers from the people. The brand pledged to donate 10 pence to a charitable foundation that helps the homeless for every bank they handed over to the bank.
The Coca-Cola truck became one of the symbols of Christmas after 1995, when the famous advertisement appeared on TV screens. The key to the success of the campaign has served to sound in the video the song with the refrain «Holidays are coming». It has become a hit in its own right and is almost as much a Christmas symbol as Let It Snow, Deck the Halls or Jingle Bells.
