British Airways created new nap pods for its First Class passengers in Heathrow Airport.
Traveling is exhausting, but British Airways has created a solution for its First Class passengers, new nap pods where they may rest for 20 minutes before boarding their flight.
Passengers will be able to lie down in the world’s first chair created solely for power napping, set a timer, and then nod off in the “Forty Winks” nap lounge, which will have specially-built sleep pods.
The pods will be available at the airline’s First Lounge at London Heathrow, and will also be rolled out at its Concorde Room at London Heathrow Terminal 5 and JFK Terminal 7 in New York.
An adjustable privacy visor, a reclining seat, and ‘complimentary audio content’ are among the features. Passengers will not be charged for the service. Generally, the service is only accessible in First Class lounges, however due to the airline’s temporary closure of parts of its lounges, it is now available to all lounge-eligible clients.
Tom Stevens, British Airways’ Director of Brand and Customer Experience, said: “We can’t wait to welcome our customers back after a very difficult year, and we’re always looking for new ideas to support our customers’ health and wellbeing pre-flight.
The concept arose after the airline surveyed lounge visitors in 2019 to find out what additions they would like to see in the future, and sleep pods were at the top of the list.
